| On October 7, 80 real estate students from universities across the Midwest joined Foundation members in Chicago
for the first annual Eisenberg Foundation Career Day. Career Day was designed and implemented with the help of student
leaders Patrick Berniacke (Marquette) and Alan Lagunov (UIUC), as a unique and invaluable opportunity for aspiring real
estate students to spend a day in the real life working world of commercial real estate.
The Program featured a dinner
with keynote speaker David Bossy, Principal and Chairman of Mid-America Development Partners, followed by a hand on tour
of an urban development site, round table panel discussions featuring Eisenberg Mentors, and a luncheon presentation and
question and answer with John Bucksbaum, Chairman of General Growth Properties. Watch for details on the 2nd annual Career Day on October 2-3. |

The 2008 Alumni Mentor-Mentee Event was our most successful to date. In addition to our new venue at LuxBar, located in Chicago’s Gold Coast, the event hosted its biggest turnout of HEEF mentors and mentees ever. This year’s event was hosted by Edwin Vdovets and Stephen Sotoloff and included toasts from Greg Moyer, Dan Hyman, and Peter Borzak. Additionally, Al Klairmont was awarded the newly created Eisenberg Achievement Award to recognize his tireless dedication to HEEF and in particular the Mentor-Mentee Program, which he founded and continues to nurture.
We look forward to seeing current members and new faces at next year’s event! Your participation has been instrumental to the program’s continued growth and success.

While the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament was playing the Sweet 16, the Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation hosted its 1st Annual Eisenberg Madness 3-on-3 basketball tournament. On Saturday, March 29th, 2008 twenty eight teams came to the Windy City Fieldhouse to participate.
The Championship game was won by “The Freeballers” with a score of 21-19 and the winning team received tickets for the White Sox game on August 12, 2008. After the tournament, teams enjoyed food and drinks from La Madia Restaurant.
We sincerely appreciate sponsorship donations from First Industrial, Windy City Fieldhouse, La Madia Restaurant, and the Chicago White Sox. Thank you to everyone who participated in the tournament. With your help, the event raised over $2000 for Gastrointestinal Cancer research.
We plan on holding the 2nd Annual Eisenberg Madness tournament next March and look forward to another competitive and fun event!
