Harold’s Story: A Man Who Inspired Many
Husband. Father. Teacher. Friend.
Harold Eisenberg was a man who inspired many. His devotion to his family and his work brought him true joy. Everyone who knew Harold witnessed his incredible zest and vitality in his relationships with his loved ones and through his vision to create community gathering places. He is remembered for his integrity and his ability to listen, understand, and share. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father to his three children, a mentor to his business associates and friends, and teacher to his students at the International Council of Shopping Centers School for Professional Development.
In early 1999, Harold passed away suddenly from liver cancer. Just weeks before, he and his family had been on one of their annual vacations, where he spent each morning running on the beach. Almost immediately after his death, in an outpouring of love, his friends and family established the Foundation in his name to ensure that other families do not have to endure the loss of a loved one to GI cancer, a disease that takes the lives of over 100,000 people each year.
In addition to fighting cancer, Harold’s friends and family were also dedicated to carrying out his values. A leader in the world of real estate, Harold believed in sharing his knowledge and experience to enrich and empower students and young professionals. Harold’s legacy as an educational leader lives on through the Foundation’s real estate education programs.
The Harold E. Eisenberg Foundation remains committed to celebrating the spirit of a man whose love of people and passion for learning inspired those around him. It is our mission to continue Harold’s good work.
